The Heart’s Lament

The Heart’s Lament

So many days without thought… without interest,
years spent confused by lust and dead living.
I have blindly wandered in life’s battle  without shield.
Many tongues i have found distracting…
many souls without ears and muddled voices…
spilling nonsense in their noise.
Love closed its doors when I sought its shelter…
saying, “what you are searching for, is not here.”
~
Father… there is nothing like your presence…
be here with me now… deliver from me the knotty grasp
of this lifeless place… if it is your will…
by your strength…not mine alone

  1. The pain you feel, is mine, as well…
    It seems an ageless wandering…
Dreams of flight could be of escape…
They could be of isolating in a free space…
I don’t really care about not fitting in…
    I care about the loss…
    and non-connection that remains…
I am grateful for knowing what love is…
But, it is a lonely appreciation…until sleep renders reprieve…
    and age renders rest…
