Eyes

Eyes

Her delicate
silhouette still lingers,
closer than these arms
can embrace…
haunting me.
I breathe her
in within the
lull of a zephyr…
as lilac and roses
stirs  the air…
staining their fragrance
upon my memory.
Life
found her defenseless,
silenced by a veil of fear,
Faith
clutched tight within her
hands, as esoteric dreams
laid shattered beneath
rages of a strange
and soulless
hand.
Frail
she emerged…soul hidden,
draped in shades of deathly
gray. Sweet serenity
severed tragically in
her incarcerated
reality.
Her
taunting whispers bleed my
heart, no peace for the
buried hurt inside
For innocence
was laid to rest
long
before dying.
She’s no longer
earthbound, yet,
I smell her…I
still feel the touch
of her tiny fingers
upon my skin..
soft as the
breeze…
intimately
weaving in …out
through me.
Alas, I no
longer find release in
the sting of these saline
tears, for the shroud of
nightmares lives
on through the
light of day
She
wore candy apple red
the day she left and
oh how bright
eyes once
smiled.
