Insomnia

Insomnia

How can I sleep, how can I sleep,
when lusty thoughts are rampant
and aroused, awakening the sweet
place of ambrosial tears. My
suffering breasts are at high noon
on this empty night that’s dying;
please do not let the moon draw
its curtain before we come
together again.
~
My love,
I am in need of breathless kisses,
amorous lips and knowing hands
to ease the heave of my pulse
at the carnal juncture.
Only you can release this rain.
~
How can I sleep, how can I sleep,
when I am here and you are there;
my life is but a cycle of deaths each
morning to morning. You
promised me your heart,
now come within my reach.
I
lay awake with a sigh on
the edge of my lips, a
dare within my
kiss and a
beggars gaze,
hungry with
wild
demands.
I
am drunk on what could be;
each day finds me arrested inside,
nostalgia on recall and your words
circling my flames….
Tell me, how can I sleep?
